Strahan: Cruising Maquarie Harbour
From Tullah to Strahan. The ride to Strahan was lovely as one would expect almost anywhere in Tasmania.

We took a cruise on Macquarie Harbour, a tour or Sarah Island and a cruise on the Gordon River - all part of the same excursion. |
First we headed out through Hell's Gates, the natural entrance to the harbour. |

Not aesthetically pleasing but the scenery is nice. |
Aquaculture in action. Sea Trout, the same as Rainbow Trout but raised in brackish are grown here. |

The water in the harbour is rich in tannin from a plant which grows around it. It gives the water a brown colour under some circumstances.
